In July, when hot days continue, many people want to travel away from their daily lives. Students want to travel for the summer vacation, and workers also take a few days off and go on a trip to make memories with friends or family. In particular, breathing fresh air in nature on a hot summer day and going into the sea to avoid the hot sun will cleanse their tired bodies and minds.
The UOS Times recommends them to travel to Gangneung, Gangwon Province. Gangneung, located in the eastern part of Gangwon Province, has beautiful beaches along the long East Coast, traditional markets, and historical sites, making the entire city valuable as a tourist destination.
In particular, Anmok Beach, located at the bottom of the 20 beaches, has beautiful coffee streets and it is one of the best beaches in the country. There is a coffee festival here in spring and autumn. The coastline of Anmok Beach is connected, so if you drive along the long coastline, you can see various tourist attractions together. And if you go to famous coffee shops on the coffee street at Anmok Beach, you will be able to taste each unique coffee.
Moreover, there is an Ojukheon House in Gangneung. Ojukheon means “a house where black bamboo grows.” This is a wooden building of Mid-Joseon Dynasty and designated as National Treasure No.165.     Also, it is a house renowned as the home of the literary giant Shin Saindang and the birthplace of Yi I, her son and a renowned Confucian scholar in his own right. There is a large parking lot for tourists, and buses are frequent, so you can visit conveniently using public transportation.
In addition, Gangneung has Gyeongpodae Pavilion, which is good to see a beautiful sunrise, a coffee museum that displays various coffee artifacts from all over the world, and Heonhwa-ro, the closest coastal road to the sea in Korea. Therefore, how about going to Gangneung for this summer vacation?
