Kim Geun-sik, a sexual assault criminal against minors, was re-arrested a day before his release from prison. Senior judge Song said, "The crime has been explained and there is a risk of fleeing and destroying evidence." According to the court's decision, Kim will not go to a rehabilitation facility under the Ministry of Justice in Uijeongbu, but will be investigated by the prosecution while in prison. The arrest warrant for Kim on charges of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act (forced harassment of minors under the age of 13) is requested.  Kim is suspected of forcibly molesting victim A under the age of 13 in 2006. The prosecution made the decision after confirming the additional damage and proving the allegations after analyzing the evidence.

Although the incident occurred 16 years ago, the prosecution judged that there was no problem with the statute of limitations considering the age of the victim at the time of the incident.
The local community seems to be relieved as the arrest warrant for Kim has been rejected. Kim was scheduled to be released from prison on the 17th after serving 15 years for sexually assaulting 11 minors in the Seoul metropolitan area from May to September 2006.
