On October 15, a 23-year-old employee was killed by an accident in a bread-making factory. Her body was stuck in a sauce mixer machine, and it was the remained employees who pulled out and  recovered the body. After the accident happened, the process of making sandwiches were ceased for 12 hours, however, the work was resumed again at the same place, just covering the scene of the accident in a cloth. The sandwiches made on that day were distributed to the stores.

What is being more controversial, the Paris Baguette’s parent company SPC sent a box of bread to the funeral in meaning of condolences. People are outraged with this behavior, saying that it does not make any sense to send the “bread” to the funeral who was killed while making that “bread.” In this situation, the public is boycotting SPC brands, criticizing their attitude toward a deceased employee.
