Today marks the end of the year 2022. The bell in Bosingak will ring for the first time in three years, in celebration of the coming new year. The crowd of at least 100,000 people is expected to visit Jongno, where Bosingak is located, to watch the bell ring. Total 14 people will be in charge of ringing the bell with its iconic hammer, including Oh Se-hoon, the Mayor of Seoul, and ten civil representatives. Before the bell is rung, a series of concerts and performances is scheduled to celebrate the ceremony. In accordance with the Buddhist tradition, the bell will be hit 33 times.
