On March 1, 2023, UOS Falcons, the baseball club in the University of Seoul (UOS), had a practice game at Sampae baseball stadium in Namyangju. Since it was the first game after recruitment of the year, the new members gathered to join the game. Unlike the usual games in amateur baseball league, where two teams of ten play for four to five innings, the players were divided into three teams and played for two innings each. It was a meaningful time for members to experience the systematic baseball as players.

The coach of UOS Falcons, Lee Seung-hyun, (Dept. of Public Administration, ’18) said “During the semester, all the members may not be able to join regular games and training due to their personal schedules. Therefore, this tryout was a great opportunity for me to figure out many different players’ abilities in detail.” He also said that he would work hard to accurately measure the players’ skills by quantifying it. Ever since he was selected as a head of UOS Falcons for this full year, he has been doing his best in order to get the most potential of players. Every practice game the team plays is being recorded in addition to official games for a better performance.

Supporters also have an important role in the club. They not only watch games but also record every game. These records are later used as important data for quantification. Moreover, after supporters gain such experience through several games, they can also be dispatched as recorders to university baseball leagues like Amateur University Baseball League (AUBL) and Korea University Sport Federation (KUSF).

UOS Falcons is expected to make a huge accomplishment this year. UOS Falcons, the only baseball club at UOS, is always open for new recruits.
