Entering the second half of my term as the editor-in-chief of The UOS Times, I found some perks of the job. The first is being the only editor who can use the word “I” in the magazine. I very much enjoy sharing my ideas and introducing readers to the new issue.

The second and bigger perk is being able to offer guidance to the magazine. The changes I wanted to make have adapted themselves to the issues of The UOS Times. I believe the role as the editor-in-Chief is to plan for the next year, not the current. Thus, I was very happy to find the magazine and our system in development.

Like the magazine changes, our world faces change every day. In our first issue of 2023, we covered the rise of the AI Chat GPT. As astonishing as the technology is, it is also threatening many jobs and human functions. The way I see it, people and AI each have their own strengths and can complement each other. Through our article, I hope readers find a way to develop themselves along with the new technology, and not get frightened by it.

Korea is increasingly suffering from the issue of disconnect between generations. While providing ideas about the new generation, namely Gen MZ, I hope for The UOS Times to be the platform of connection between the new and the old generation.

Everyone in Korea is expecting a joyful season of mask-free spring. While in Korea, it would be a great idea to take some time to go on a trip. With that in mind, The UOS Times introduced a tourist city in the current issue. I wish each and every one of our readers a happy March and a happy start of the new school year.
