The spring semester of 2023 has started, and there are various opportunities for students to make new friends and enjoy their campus lives. Having a meal together is almost essential for making new friends, and there are many occasions to have meals with people. Thus, The UOS Times would like to recommend several restaurants near the University of Seoul (UOS) campus.

These are the opinions of students who have already visited each restaurant.

Dotori Goon Beoseot Yang (도토리군 버섯양)

This restaurant has been located in front of UOS for a long time. This restaurant is clean, and looks pretty new. The restaurant owner is inviting, the food is delicious, and the price is reasonable, at 10,000 Korean won for a single lunch of shabu-shabu.

Kkot Dak (꽃닭)

It is three minutes away from the main gate of UOS and is located in the alley after Ediya Coffee and Waffle Story. It is divided into a first floor and an underground floor. There are many delicious Korean dishes such as budaejjigae and samgyeopsal kimchi jjim. Budaejjigae, literally meaning “army base stew” is a stew made with ham, bacon, and kimchi. Samgyeopsal kimchi jjim is a dish made by braising pork belly with kimchi. The restaurant is recommended for holding a group event.

Bomsolle See-ne (봄솔레씨네)

The restaurant is located near the main gate of UOS. It is a good place to have pasta with friends. I also remember my first meal here with my senior in the department when I was a freshman. It is so popular that people sometimes have to wait, but it is worth it.

Phohands (포핸즈)

This is a rice noodle and pork cutlet restaurant. If you order a set menu, you can eat two kinds of food. The restaurant cooks to order. I love this restaurant so much that I even went there three times a week. The staff are also kind.

Happy Dish Club (해피디쉬클럽)

This restaurant serves delicious barbecue and pizza. It is suitable for dates and group meetings since it has a great interior. When the weather is warm, it is nice to have a relaxing dinner on the rooftop.
