On 1 April 2023, Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) league drew the curtains. All ten baseball clubs came up with various events to celebrate the first regular season game magnificently. Special guests made a surprise visit to stadiums. At Daegu Samsung Lions Park, President Yoon Suk-yeol and First Lady Kim Geon-hee had come for the first pitcher and hitter. Jung Sung-il, who is well known as Ha Do-yeong in The Glory, appeared in Daejeon, and worked up the excitement of the mob. He amazed everyone with his professional pitching style. It came as a surprise that he now plays as a pitcher of a celebrity baseball team.

This spring season caused a great sensation to many baseball fans with the alleviation of COVID-19. Compared to the last season, considering the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of audiences has almost doubled. About two hundred thousand baseball fans headed for the stadium for two days including the opening, regardless of the disappointing situations. KBO had requested for the prosecution investigation. KBO said that they will increase preventive education to eradicate illegalities and corruption, also promising a close examination.

This opening is specially being highlighted as unfavorable factors have approached at once. From secret payments to sexual violence against minors, KBO is now awash in bad news. Ex-Lotte Giants pitcher, Seo Jun-won, was suspected of having persuaded a minor whom he met to take pictures of her bodies and send them to him last August. KBO suspended Seo under Article 152 of the league regulations as he was indicted by the Busan District Prosecutors Office under Article 11 of the Act on the Protection of Children and Youth. He is now, as a result, banned from participating in all activities in connection with any KBO league, including training.
