Hyundai Department Store announced that they have signed an agreement on domestic operational rights for Disney Store, the retail brand of the Walt Disney Company. As a result, Disney stores will be opened in Korea at major locations of Hyundai Department Store and Hyundai Premium Outlet. Based on this collaboration, Hyundai Department Store is to launch Korea’s first Disney Store at the Pangyo branch in July. Disney stores in Korea will be complex shops that combine product sales and space to experience Disney brands and franchises.

Prior to that, Hyundai Department Store informed that a Disney pop-up will be opened at the Pangyo branch on April 18 before the official Disney store opens. The pop-up store will sell a total of 700 products, including major Disney licensed goods such as figures, dolls, clothing and living. Korean consumers will be able to experience the Disney brand through a variety of fashion, toys, lifestyle products and collection items such as Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars. Disney’s representative characters such as ‘Mickey Mouse’, ‘Snow White’, ‘Cinderella’, and Disney’s Pixar animation ‘Toy Story’ are expected to be in demand.

Moreover, all 16 Hyundai Department Store branches plan to launch a large-scale Disney-themed marketing campaign in July as the official store is to launch. Hyundai Department Store plans to add three more official Disney shops other than Pangyo within this year: The Hyundai Seoul, Cheonho, and Hyundai Premium Outlet Gimpo. Furthermore, the Disney online store will also open in July with the form of a shop-in-shop in Hyundai Department Store’s official online mall.
