The Urban Big Data and AI Institute (UBAI) at the University of Seoul (UOS) hosted an event on August 25 to announce the sharing of supercomputer computing resources with startups in Seoul. President Yongkul Won and Eui Seung Kim, Vice-Mayor I for Administrative Affairs, attended the event to express Seoul Metropolitan Government’s willingness to strengthen its research cooperation with city-affiliated organizations, support startups, and eventually expand the sharing system to public services.

Jeon Jong-jun, the Director of UBAI, stated that in collaboration with Seoul City, UOS has accumulated large-scale computational resources and developed a system in which resources can be efficiently shared and managed with researchers, entrepreneurs, and companies. Moreover, given that researchers and venture companies often encounter difficulties in entering the artificial intelligence field due to enormous costs, UOS intends to continue providing computational resources as a public university. Hereafter, UBAI aims to support startups in need and continue its research on large-scale artificial intelligence learning.
