While Chungchoon Story decided not to take action on the situation, Jang Lae-gun (Dept. of Korean History, ’10) pledged to band together with other students for further actions in case the situation does not get better. The gathering denounced that it is a shame that democracy is being torn down and the constitutional order upon which is being trampled. They also urged President Park Geun-hye to take a responsibility for this matter and make a public apology. They said that it is necessary to push for a stern probe into the NIS’s actions beyond the matters of the progressive and conservative parties.
The parliamentary probe into the NIS’s attempts to have interference in the election is set to end on Aug. 15, and the situation is in jeopardy of ending without a conclusive resolution.
