▲ Out of all three types of selection, nonsul saw the highest number of applicants with 6,632. Dept. of International Relations recorded the highest competition rate of 26.09:1 in nonsul selection
The University of Seoul (UOS)’s 2014 entrance examination competition rate showed a slight decline compared with the previous year.

For this year’s susi (admitted at any times), the entrance competition rate recorded about 10.79:1. UOS planned to recruit 1,030 students, and 11,110 students applied.
Compared with 2013, the rate of susi in 2014 showed considerable decrease. A critical reason for this decline was due to a revision of on nonsul (essay-writing) entrance examination in which only those who received a letter of recommendation from the principal of his or her school can apply.

In jungsi (admitted at fixed times), the entrance competition rate recorded about 5.46:1. 973 students were to be recruited through jungsi and 5,309 students applied.
This also showed a slight decrease compared with previous year, which recorded 7.38:1. Within group “Na,” the Dept. of Physics recorded the highest competition rate ? 5.87:1. Within group “Da,” the School of Electrical Computer Engineering recorded the highest rate of 46.10:1.
