The Main Library held E-Resources Expo at the Main Auditorium on May 3rd. The library’s Electronic Information Team designed the expo in order to publicize and provide guidance on using electronic resources such as database, electronic journals and e-books. The expo has been held every year since 2013. Su-yeon Choi, the officer at the Electronic Information Team, said “This expo is to encourage students to utilize the E-Resources that the library provides for free.” According to the officer, the E-Resources include online lectures and education programs for writing reports. Also, companies regarding E-Resources participated in the expo to give instructions on using E-Resources through mobile devices like smartphone or tablet PC.

About 300 people participated in the expo. According to Choi, normally 250 to 300 people visit the expo annually. Choi said, “Despite the bad weather, many students visited. It was more than expected.” She added that students majoring natural science and engineering showed active participation in the programs. In addition, the library’s Electronic Information Team promoted prize event to encourage visitors’ participation. After the expo, the library held programs of the further Database instruction and Turnitin Service, which is an Internet-based plagiarism prevention service.
