A year has passed since I entered the University of Seoul (UOS). Maybe I might not be able to wander around the campus curiously like a freshman anymore. Instead I might be able to find something new in the university which I am now quite familiar with. For this issue, some might be able to rethink about their attitude toward the concept of “hobby.” For some others, they might get to know about a region which they are unfamiliar with through a local university. Perhaps, exploring and rethinking about you and your surroundings might be something you should do.

In the 142nd issue, I wrote the Cover Story, which was more challenging than I thought. But it was also a great chance to think deeply about problems in the university. I hope our readers think about student activism once again and pay attention to our country’s political circumstances more, with our Cover Story.

As I’m heading to the end of my term as a reporter in The UOS Times, I suppose Travel kicker will remain in my memory for a long time. The time there was wonderful. If you are interested in foreign language and culture, don't miss this chance and join us!

I have been working as a reporter for one year. I think time flies so fast. And I am expecting new reporters who can work and make memorable experiences together. Still, I need to make more effort to become a better reporter. To make an effort, I chose my New Year resolution; think more, read more and communicate with people more than last year.

Time goes too fast to catch, and 2017 has already come to us. Wishing successful publication of all of the magazines in 2017, I want to express appreciation to all the people who helped my work. Please read our articles of the 142nd issue joyfully!

Though I too feel a kind of bittersweet sense as it's drawing to the end, I'm pretty sure that it must be a lot more intense for you. It has been nice working with you till now. They say everything that has a beginning has an end, but I believe that end must be another beginning and yours will be, too.

When I wrote this edition's Society, it took a lot of effort and lots of help from other reporters, too. A 5-pages long Society article may not have a strong effect on the real society, but I do hope readers are reminded of some of our past and take a chance to steer toward a better future, after reading it. Then, it will have been a great privilege to do this writing if it can serve even the smallest part for them to do so.
