An e-sports competition of three kinds of online game between UOS and HUFS (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies) was held on November 10, which followed a previous tournament among UOS students that was held from from October 19 to November 7. Students competed at League of Legends, Overwatch, and FIFA Online 3. The teams were organized by themselves and competed with other students. There were 15 teams for League of Legends, 24 teams for FIFA online 3, and 8 teams for Overwatch. The winners of each game competed with students from HUFS on November 10. “Danawa”, a computer company sponsored this competition.
There was a promotion for students from UOS at the main competition between UOS and HUFS on November 10. On that day, there were other game competitions for students who did not join main competition. Students could play mobile game, pitching pennies and join lottery. However, it rained during contest, there was a short break. After restarting the game, UOS won on Overwatch and FIFA online 3.
According to Kwon Ki-nam, a member of the Student Council, there were not as many students as the Student Council initially expected. He thought this was due to a lack of promotion about the event. Also, he felt that students had a difficult time making up teams because the games Overwatch and League of Legends require about 5 or 6 players per team. He hopes these obstacles will be avoided next year.
