But when I looked at it a second time, I found that it is very interesting, and got really excited because all the articles written by the student reporters were really great. So, I picked up the last magazine and read it. I think making an English magazine like The UOS Times is really meaningful not only for the students who read it but also for the students who make it. Truly it is the magazine ‘of the students, by the students, for the students’.
I enjoyed to read many of the articles in The UOS Times, and I’d like to mention a few here. First, I think the ‘Academy’ section was useful to students keen to learn more about foreign languages, especially English. And it would be good to get further knowledge in this section about other academic areas that many people have an interest in.
There’s a need for volunteers all over the place. We see and hear of many people who are hungry, sick and helpless, but with no one to take care of them. For people like these, there are some volunteers, but as we know, many of them need our care and love. I have always wanted to have a chance to be one of these noble volunteers, and the ‘Click Here’ section gave me a lot of help on this.
I am really interested in interior design. So, I was happy to learn more about ‘Green Interior Design’ in the ‘Recruit’ section. I love planting, and growing plants. After I read this, I started surfing on the Internet to find out more about Green Interior Design.
When I was reading the ‘Culture Club’ section, it made me think of the swear words I use unconsciously. It’s quite shocking to know the meanings of many swear words we use commonly.
I’m looking forward to getting the next magazine because it’s a pleasant part of being at the UOS. There’s lots of new information, and issues I haven’t thought about seriously. I think twice about the articles while reading The UOS Times. And finally, I hope The UOS Times will continue to be there for students.
