This upcoming year, new chances for overseas studies are available for students. The University of Seoul (UOS) has adopted a new student exchange program involving Chinese Universities. Students will be able to study at the Fudan University and Zheng Zhou University of Light Industry as of 2005.

The UOS currently offers academic exchanges to the United States of America, Russia and Mongolia. In the past, the UOS has offered student exchanges to Hungary and Japan. Starting this year, the UOS is expected to focus on expanding all kinds of overseas exchange system, thus emphasizing in its efficiency.

To apply for an exchange student to China, students will need to have GTA of at least an average grade of B0 or higher. University Students will need the school president’s recommendation, but students taking academic courses will need to send in an application by themselves. Students with high score of TOEIC or TOEFL are more likely to be chosen. Seven students are scheduled to besent to China in 2005.

Although this new exchange program is supported by the UOS, there is no scholarship. Therefore, chosen students will need to prepare their own funds. However, students will be able to learn from advanced knowledge and venture further into the global world. Perhaps, the expansion of the exchange program will lead our school’s globalization.
