Students raised their hands to ask questions. A student from the department of science in taxation pointed out the lack of services for students such as cyber-lecture, copying machines and major lectures in seasonal semesters. The president said “We are not having a cyber-university but we are trying to encourage students to talk with their professors on-line. About the availability of copying machines, we are going to survey other universities’ cases. Seasonal semesters don’t have enough time needed for processes of major subjects. So it might cause unfruitful education”.
There was mention about the strict regulations in the Main Library which have been issued this year. The director of the Main Library said “There can be a variety of opinions about appropriate regulation in the Main Library. Current regulations were made after we had carefully surveyed other universities. Taking in drinks, privatizing of seats and so fourth are big problems. We need a restraint”. The president also made a comment. “I respect most students’ opinions. But I despaired after finding out that our students brought this case to court. Why should other students’ rights be violated? We are trying and improving. If I do wrong I’ll fix it. But students also fix their problems”.
At the end of the conversation the president gave assurance that students’ opinions will actively be reflected in the reforms to the system. “I heard a lot of good ideas today. We’ll do our best. Please participate with us. Student council candidates are working hard. Give them encouragement”.
